Happy Leap Year! So I figure I should update the blog today, not only because it is leap year and how often do you read the date February 29th?, but because a few neat things have happened this past week I think I should share...
Wednesday morning my parents left for a trade show for their company taking with them 50 popcorn bins filled with 20 king sized candies, a 20 foot banner, and these cool baseball jerseys that say ALLSTAR across the front in a angels type font(the theme this year is baseball, perfect huh?) They are gone until sometime tommorow(saturday)and we(me, cassidy, michael, dani, & macy our dog) are staying at grandma and grandpas house until then.
Wednesday night was New Begginings for the Young Women in our ward. Because Cassidy turned 12 in the past year they presented her along with a few other girls. The theme was DMW(department of many values) and the orientation song for the new girls was "The Wheels on the Bus". The laurels invited the new beehives up to sit in chairs aligned like a bus and started singing having the girls one by one(not knowing this was going to happen)say what they would say on the bus. So this is how it went when it got to Cassidy "the cassidy on the bus says hi(what she came up with)...all through the town". Everything went with the theme and it was a great night. Plus grandma got to come! oh yeah- we also made this really good creamy tortilla soup I found for dinner!(I will put it on here later)
Today was a Blue and Gold dinner for Michael and the rest of the cubscouts that celebrated chinese new year. It was for the whole family, so off went me, Grandma, Grandpa, Cassidy, Michael, and Dani for some chinese food down at the church. They gave out some awards, Morgan Taylor(who just came back from his Taiwan Mission) talked about the new year(he did a very good job), and they even saved some time for Michael to show everyone his form and some nunchuck moves! He is so good! Oh- my fortune cookie said i am going to fall in love(or date-i can't remember) with some famous person. A little weird, but I will take it, haha, just kidding! : )
HAPPY FEBRUARY 29TH!!!! (You only get to say it every 4 years! : )

iLa Salsa!

We just got back from our combined activity where we learned to do the salsa! Originally, the night was planned as a "sock hop" where you bring socks to donate which emerged to a learn a dance night. So, the place was all decorated fifties and we learned the salsa! David and Darcy Coles taught the youth a few steps at a time, swiching partners every so often, and then we had a dance competition. Then we ate root beer floats at the end. I was really impressed with all the boys participation and willingness to dance.
funny how dancing keeps becoming the subject of our blog, huh?

And another one!...Bop to the Top
Would you believe me if I told you Dani's favorite show is dancing with the stars? Well it is! She loves all the dancing and glittery dresses and is quite the little performer. Dani says she either wants to be on Dancing With the Stars or American Gladiators when she gets older. That's our pretty in pink tomboy! If you listen closely Dani unexpectedly toots at about 1:05! She thinks she is so funny and says "i tooted!" as she continues on with her performance. -McKenzie
Here it is!
I figured out something was wrong with the internet so I couldn't up load it directly, but I was able to do so on another computer so here it is. As you can tell the video was recorded about three months ago but it's so cute! It is me simply pressing record on the computer and play on the cd player. No editing whatsoever. Make sure you turn up your volume! : ) -McKenzie

Any other way?
Hey, McKenzie here. I been trying to upload a few videos for a while now and I haven't been able to get one up. I know you are supposed to upload them from YouTube or Google videos but is there a way around it?
